Quilt Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is made by Joe Wagner, a fifth-generation Napa Valley winemaker and son of Chuck Wagner, co-founder of Caymus Vineyards. With Quilt, Joe set out to bring the plush, opulent character of Napa's finest Cabernets to a broader audience, fruit sourced from nine of Napa's most celebrated sub-appellations, including Oakville, St. Helena, Calistoga, Howell Mountain, and Atlas Peak.
The result is unmistakably Napa: deep, glossy color with aromas of blackberry, cassis, and vanilla. Extended maceration and aging in French oak barrels (70% new) build richness, structure, and that characteristic velvety mouthfeel. The palate delivers dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and ripe dark fruit with polished tannins and enough structure to age gracefully. It rewards red meat, prime rib, lamb chops, braised brisket, and holds its own with equally bold cheeses.
