My Favorite Neighbor Cabernet Sauvignon
Paso Robles' most talked-about Cabernet, world-class structure and approachability in the same bottle.
My Favorite Neighbor is made by Eric Jensen of Booker Vineyards, one of the most respected winemakers in Paso Robles. The fruit comes from exceptional vineyard sites across Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo County, and the Edna Valley, where clay soils remarkably similar to those found in Napa and Bordeaux give the wine its depth and structure. The vineyards are farmed meticulously, with Jensen's team treating every block like a single-vineyard offering.
The 2022 vintage, a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, 6% Syrah, 4% Petite Sirah, and 3% Petit Verdot, was aged 18-20 months in 55-70% new French oak. The result is a wine of serious complexity: cassis, dark blue fruit, leafy tobacco, and baking spice on the nose, with a full, plush palate, chalky tannins, and a long, mineral finish. It is extraordinarily well-suited to dry-aged beef, braised lamb, or a hard, aged cheese.
The 2022 vintage was awarded 94 points by both James Suckling and Jeb Dunnuck, remarkable scores for a wine at this price point.
Pairs well with: Dry-aged Steak, Braised Lamb Shanks, Wild Boar, Hard Aged Cheese, Dark Chocolate
A wine this good doesn't need a special occasion. It makes one.

My Favorite Neighbor was born from Eric's collaboration with his closest winemaking allies, Justin Smith of Saxum and Stephan Asseo of L'Aventure. The wine reflects Paso Robles at its most ambitious: sourced from exceptional sites, farmed without shortcuts, and crafted to rival the best Cabernets in the world.
