JAX Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Kurt Venge, one of Napa Valley's most respected and decorated winemakers. The wine draws fruit from several of Napa's finest sub-appellations, Oakville, Rutherford, and surrounding hillside sites, where deep, well-drained soils and the valley's signature warm days and cool nights produce Cabernet of real intensity and structure.
The wine shows classic Napa character: cassis, dark chocolate, and subtle cedar on the nose, with a full-bodied palate of concentrated dark fruit, firm but refined tannins, and lingering oak-derived spice. Aged in French oak, it has the architecture to improve with a few years in the cellar but shows beautifully now when decanted. A natural partner to dry-aged steak, braised short rib, or a serious aged cheese board.
