Barboursville Cabernet Sauvignon
Estate-grown Cabernet from Virginia's most internationally acclaimed winery, rich, structured, and full of local pride.
Barboursville Vineyards is Virginia's most decorated winery, founded in 1976 on the historic estate of Virginia Governor James Barbour, the original manor house designed by Thomas Jefferson. Under the steady hand of Italian-born winemaker Luca Paschina, who joined the estate in 1990, Barboursville has built a reputation for producing some of Virginia's most serious, age-worthy wines from its 185-acre estate vineyard in Charlottesville's Piedmont.
This Cabernet Sauvignon is estate-grown on the clay and loam soils of the Monticello AVA, where the rolling terrain and continental climate favor structured reds with real depth. The wine shows ripe black cherry, cassis, and a thread of tobacco on the nose, with firm but supple tannins and a clean, persistent finish. It is an excellent partner for beef, lamb, and aged cheeses.
Barboursville is the benchmark for Virginia Cabernet Sauvignon, a wine that belongs on the same table as serious reds from anywhere in the world.
Pairs well with:
Beef Tenderloin, Lamb Chops, Wild Mushrooms, Aged Gouda, Hard Salami
Sharing a bottle of Barboursville is sharing a piece of Virginia history. It belongs on every serious Virginia wine list.
